Inclusion work is not about Targets
I was invited into the lion's den onto BBC 5 Live to talk about the rolling back on EDI with Nicky Campbell.
I tried hammering home the idea that inclusion is about behaviours and culture strategy - not identities - and the expertise required to support that in organisations ( i.e. the EDI/DEI work we do) is about equitable opportunity and growth.
Facing Wendy Morton MP and Reform UK's Richard Tice MP and dispelling the myths that the work - when done properly - is not about targets, but it IS informed by data, seems to be the clear piece of communication that we need to deliver right now.
Richard Tice said: "Inclusion should be about involving everybody in the United Kingdom, contributing to family life, community life and to the country" ...so maybe we can quote him on that, when his policies don't align with that thinking.
